Cleaning Operative (15 Hours), City Academy

Pay Grade: CLF2, Salary: £14,470

Actual Gross Salary: £5,001 per year

City Academy is a forward thinking Academy based in East Central Bristol. City Academy provides education to 750 students KS3, 4 and 5. The children at City Academy are excited to learn and are real ambassadors for our diverse community. They benefit from a hugely positive and supporting learning environment.

City Academy is part of the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF).  The CLF is the largest non-diocesan academy group in the South West. The CLF currently sponsors 14 academies, eight of which are secondary, five are primary and one is a studio school catering for students aged 14 to 19.

This busy role incorporates all duties related to general cleaning of the school site, as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.  Experience required preferably in a school environment or a large site, with knowledge of modern industrial cleaning equipment and methods desirable.  Manual handling training and knowledge of COSHH are essential.

  • To ensure high quality provision of cleaning services within the academy and relevant sites as allocated by the Site Manager (this may vary from time to time).
  • Report all defects/hazards immediately to the Site Manager.
  • To comply with COSHH, Manual Handling, Risk Assessment, Colour Coding and any other Cleaning Policies in the academy and relevant sites.
  • Experience in using floor cleaning machinery and manual handling is an advantage and colour coding.

You must be helpful and have a considerate approach towards students, staff and visitors.  You also must be trustworthy, a good time keeper and demonstrate flexibility and, have the ability to work alone and as part of a team.  You must be able to take instruction and converse in English to a suitable standard.
